We needed to get away.
We needed to kick back and just enjoy being the 2 of us.
We needed to go somewhere to just have FUN.
NO paperwork, profiles or books to finish.
NO waiting.
We needed to get away!
We have been saving all our vacation days for when we have a baby, but I knew we both needed to get away. I asked my boss for half a day last week and told her why and she was so sweet. She said take the entire day! SO, started the planning.
I tried to book a trip to Las Vegas, after all this winter here in MN has been more than trying.
Spoke with Dan's scheduler to try to get him off on Friday, no luck.
Decided Chicago would be just as fun.
Booked a great hotel.
Bought City Passes (highly advise these, no lines, great deal)
and made sure Dan helped get all the laundry done on his day off on Thursday (Tricky, I know)
Friday morning came and I pretended to get up for work, and instead got to spend the morning holding a new born and playing with a fun 2 year old.

Told Dan not to call me at work because I was busy helping do Botox.
We left for "work".
I got home around noon and started to pack up.
We talked a few times during the day and I had to pretend I was busy at work.
He fell for it!!
When he got home, I was standing in the garage with the car packed and told him to go change, I had clothes on the bed and he needed to hurry.
He was so SURPRISED!!!
I didn't tell him where we were going till we were in the car.
He was excited and it was so fun to have the weekend planned out and just be able to get away.

And of course we bought our baby to be a stuffed animal.
We decided that until we get that phone call, we were going to take advantage of just being a family of 2
We had a great time and are looking forward to our next weekend get away!
