Saturday Treasures

Today I was lucky enough to have the day off. As an added bonus went down to enjoy a cool day at the farmers Market with my Mom. We are really starting to enjoy these early mornings together. There are always so many things to look at and smells to take in. I just LOVE it!!! So, just like last time, I got a steal of a deal on flowers! Aren't they gorgeous? Hand picked here in the area.

I also bought vegetables from a local Hmong family here in Hugo. It was fun to talk with them and learn about some of the interesting things they were selling. They farm not to far from our church.

I also gave into a fetish. Jewelry. I love this necklace and have been looking for something like it for a while. I also was able to score the next one for very cheap!

Later we found a lady who had all these fun earrings. These caught my eye.

There are so many neat things there today I was a little overwhelmed at times. My Mom found some neat treasures herself. I am looking forward to going again. You never know what you will find and the prices are hard to beat!

After we had seen it all at the farmers market we deiced to go visit Dan at work. However, not before we stoped and got him a coffee from Caribou Coffee. It was a pleasant surprise for him.

Our final stop was at a local nursery. My Mom is working on their landscaping and I wanted to take a look around for some last details for ours. Instead of flowers or plants I found this.

I have always thought a bird bath would be fun, but didn't ever see one that I liked or had a place for it until now. So, after looking at all of them. I found this one. Plus, it was marked wrong (half the price as the others). We asked the sales associate who said she would sell it at the sticker price. SCORE! So, now we have this nice addition to our patio area.

What a productive Saturday morning. I am off to Menard's to get a few things for the yard and try to get some things done around here before church this evening.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Remodeled...Now Finished.

Well, it didn't take long. We had to take up the last row due to pond taunting us with higher water levels. It is now finished and ready to be enjoyed (again). By re-doing this we were actually able to make it two rows wider. I think we will be even better than it was before. So, if any of you want to come over for a fire.... give us a call. We'd love to have you over.

My husband... The Chef

There is a known fact about Dan, he loves to cook. He particularly enjoys grilling. He also enjoys watching Bobby Flay cook. So, what could be better than a cook book by Bobby Flay on hamburgers. It was a must get. So, this weekend while I was working at the hospital. He was busy working on a masterpiece.*note: he made homemade BBQ sauce for this burger too! * Doesn't it look good!!

Farmers Market

Two things I absolutely love about summer....

1. Flowers
2. The Farmers Market in Minneapolis

Today I was able to enjoy both. I love getting up early on Saturdays that I have off and heading down to the Farmers Market. Spending my morning there is so much fun. I love taking in all that it has to offer. The fun items the venders are selling, people watching, the smells, all the fresh vegetables and my favorite the fresh flowers!!! Today I was able to snatch this beautiful bunch for only $5.00. What a deal!

Happy Birthday America

This Fourth of July we spent with my family. We all got up early and went to a parade. It was fun to hang out and watch together. However, after the 10th fire truck we decided to head back to our house for a grill out. We grilled to our hearts content and enjoyed fruit pizza. After that we played badminton and other fun yard games and just took in the sun. It was a great time with family.

What's a parade without men in skirts??

The Patio

Dan and I had the chance to take in our new patio the other week on a perfect summer night. It was great. Jessie and her boyfriend Dan came over to enjoy it a while with us. We are looking forward to being out there more. However, we need to do a little work on it. It is starting to slant a bit towards the pond. Hey, what can I say, we are new to this handy work!! We are trying!

Neighbor Days

The other week we were able to go to "Good Neighbor Days" with my Mom. Alaena was able to hang out with us for a while before her Daddy was done working. She was pretty funny there. Definitely enjoying ridding in the stroller and people watching with her Uncle Dan. My Mom also was feeling a little wild and got a tattoo. Ok, not a real one, air brush but you would have never known due to her excitement. Dan and I had fun helping her pick one out. Who knows maybe next time we come over she just might have a real one! We'll be on the look out.
